Need to be able to grade and close an untaken assessment

If a student fails to take a quiz (assessment), I can mark it missing from the assignments tab but that doesn't actually give them a zero. I have to go to the gradebook to do that.

It also does not treat the quiz as taken or closed; it remains open. This means that no other students can see their results unless I change the assignment settings. I can do that as a workaround, but that creates an extra (easily overlooked) step if I import that assessment to a future section of the class.

So, to solve both problems, if a student does not take an assessment I would like to be able to give it a grade and mark it as completed/closed from the assignment page.

Bumping this back up. It has collected a lot of dust but remains an ongoing issue.

Hi, would like this implemented as well. In Education Edge FAW had Missing count as 0 but without that it's inflating all of our student grades as our first quarter with the new system, and it's a lot to go back and input each missing assignment as 0.

Seeing from other posts it's been a thing before too, so hope this can be implemented soon since it seems it should have been like that from default, otherwise Missing is just a virtual marker with no impact on the grade.

    Thank you
