The current assessment facility works fine for short quizzes, but not for longer exams. My suggestion is to make assessments more suited to longer exams by adding the ability to divide assessments into multiple sections. For example, my midterms might be 50 points total divided over 4 sections: True/False (10 points), Multiple choice (10 points), Short answer aka Fill in the Blank (10 points), and Essay (20 points). What I would like to be able to do is create a section for each; I can allow students to complete the sections in whatever order they choose, and the questions within each section could be randomized without affecting any other section. Points assignments and other settings could be programmed for each section independently. Points could be tallied for each section alone and also for the entire assessment.
