A "Course code" column should always be sortable and should be EVERYWHERE
"Course code" should be a SORTABLE column on EVERY template of the system that also uses a "course title" column. Perhaps this wasn't important for K-12 but it is ESSENTIAL information for colleges and universities.
Yes - this is certainly an issue with our college courses. Just because the description says Professional Internship that does not mean it is just one course. There are courses for each prefix that have the same name - course codes are essential - more that course names even
I second Donna and Gary's suggestions. I would also add that the course code should appear as part of the "Enroll Group" area since it only shows course title and section and since we had to duplicate courses in order to limit enrollment by classification, it's very challenging to identify the correct course.
I agree with Gary's suggestions below. But the first place for me would be under the degree setups under Edit requirements, courses! Those are in no order at all. Next would be under Departments & courses. It would be nice to be able to sort by course code OR name. At least here, they're already listed alphabetically by name. For me, course code should be sortable everywhere. Thank you for doing this!
Off the top of my head, under "Course selection and schedules", the following: "Set section info" and "Offer course" and "Departments & courses" -- all three show the course code but they are ordered alphabetically by course name and you can't click on course code to order them that way. In "Manage classes" you can click on course code and it orders it that way but there is no way to save it in "course code order" which would be GREAT. In my ultimate perfect dream world, the default order for EVERY course-related area would be alphabetically by course code (as it is in "Edit student enrollment"). Last and certainly not least, on a student's page under the "Groups" tab, when you view their class schedules, not only are the course codes missing but I am continually scratching my head trying to figure out just WHAT order the classes are listed in! Thanks, I will shut up now.
Hi all! We are looking to tackle this on each page any time we're working on a page. If there are any specific pages that are causing you the most pain, please feel free to add those to the comments here and we can look to tackle those as a priority.
I sometimes wonder if anyone at Blackbaud ever worked in higher ed. This is a bit snarky, but that's how I feel about it. Course Code is a staple of Higher Ed. It's just a no brainer.

Absolutely. The fact that the new system prioritizes Class Title over Class ID or Course Code is really poor logic.
